America’s Next Great Workforce Begins with Afterschool

In the working world today, there is a gap in workforce skills also known as emotional skills or soft skills. This is one of the main subjects at a symposium of mayors and corporate leaders that the National League of Cities has put together. At the convening, groups talked about the necessity of business leaders partnering with afterschool programs to make sure these skills are being instilled in the future leaders and workers of America. In order for students to acquire the skills, they have to be exposed to a variety of different learning opportunities constantly and consistently.
