MAP Op-Ed Published in Regional Newspapers

One of MAP's primary goals is to promote afterschool and summer learning and ensure we do our best to educate parents, local leaders, and state policy makers about it's positive impact. Last week, MAP's CEO Ardith Wieworka wrote Op-Eds for many regional newspapers to build support for afterschool and summer learning.

Ardith writes, "Access to affordable after-school programs is the solution for working families who want their kids engaged, safe and building the skills they need for success. At after-school programs, children can have fun, meet and connect with friends, which can lead to improved behavior, stronger character and fewer emotional problems. Healthy lifestyle habits are often encouraged through physical activity and good nutrition, which can lead to reductions in obesity levels."

Most recently, MAP's Op-Ed was published in Eagle-Tribune in Lawrence. You you can read the full piece here.  Along with Lawrence, MAP has published op-eds in Fall River, Attleboro, Greenfield, and Northampton.

MAP wants to project the voice of the people afterschool impacts most. If you want to write an Op-ed or letter to the editor in your local newspaper, contact us, and we'll help you get started!
